"Our artwork is inspired by William Kentridge, who explores social issues and infrastructure in his work. We have translated this into the theme of poor mobility, something we experience regularly ourselves. We show a broken track that ends against a wall, symbolizing how difficult it is to get from A to B without a driver's license. For example, the journey from Terneuzen to Ghent shows how limited and inaccessible public transport can be. The worker in our artwork tries to remedy the situation, but it feels like an endless struggle. With this work, we want to raise awareness about the problems in our transportation system."
