Normalized Pressure by Melisa Astilean, Leon Jansen, Nick Roggeveen & Natascha Block, clay sculpture, 2025. Photo: Ced'art Tamasala & Alphonse Bukumba / CATPC.

"Our artwork was created to draw attention to work pressure, especially the pressure experienced by children. As students, we often feel pressure from adults to pursue big goals. We wanted to depict this with a sculpture made of clay.

The upper body represents a parent, while the lower part symbolises a child. To incorporate an element from our assigned artist, we added a scale and stacked the two bodies on top of each other, just like Ruben Bellinkx does.

The artwork often fell over at the end; the weight (the pressure) of the adult simply became too heavy."
