"For our artwork, we were inspired by Aziza Kadyri. She incorporates themes such as migration, decolonisation, feminism and identity into her work. Like her, we used textiles, such as a tea towel and wool yarn, and applied the colours red, blue and yellow.

We also incorporated the theme of inflation, whereby prices rise and purchasing power declines. This is reflected in the images we used, such as houses and a suitcase symbolising travel. These are things that are becoming increasingly unattainable for our generation due to rising prices.

Our work shows how these symbols are, as it were, swallowed up by a black hole that is on fire. In doing so, we want to make social issues visible and discussable, just like Kadyri."
