"We would like to share our work with you. It is titled: ‘The Last Message.’ The theme of our project is the dark side of social media, with an emphasis on the impact it can have on individuals' mental health.

Our work shows the social barriers that social media can cause. This is represented by the tablet between two figures. They are literally glued and tied to their phones with electrical wire. The skulls in the artwork symbolise the dangers of excessive phone use.

During our research, we came across several articles describing how social media can contribute to serious problems, including depression and even suicide. We believe it is important to highlight these issues and raise awareness about the potential consequences of our online behaviour.

Our source of inspiration is Jeroen Frateur. He is fascinated by discarded objects because they evoke mental or sensory associations and bear the patina of the life they once knew. That is why we have consciously chosen to use old technology in our work; it reflects the past and connects it to the present."
